Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a set of globally recognized best practices tailored to any IT organization. ITIL provides comprehensive approach to Service Management by adapting appropriate Service Lifecycle practices to IT service design and delivery. The best practices are concentrated around all stakeholders of an organization, including people, products and processes.
The ITIL Best Practice and associated certification scheme is currently offered in two versions – ITIL v2 and v3. These two versions are only available in a limited transition period, as ITIL v3 is planned to completely replace v2 over time.
